🎃 Our PreK class got hands-on with fall learning for Pumpkin Seed Day! 🍂 Our students opened up a real pumpkin to explore its insides, feeling the different textures and discovering what was hiding inside. We’re ending our week by celebrating something we never want our students to outgrow: their curiosity! 🧠

After an exciting World News Day, our students were inspired to keep asking questions, exploring new ideas, and sharing what they wonder about. Today, they had the opportunity to ask questions about anything they were curious about and add them to our question board.

We believe asking questions is an important part of learning. When children are encouraged to wonder, they’re encouraged to discover, explore, and think critically. 💭

Kindergarten readiness can show up in everyday moments, not just big milestones. A few signals to notice:

1. They’re building confidence to try things independently. Examples: walking into a room first, asking for help, or giving something new a try.

2. They’re starting to recognize the letters in their name, even if they’re not reading just yet.

3. They’re showing care and responsibility at home. This could include things like helping pack a bag, feeding a pet, putting away toys, or getting through part of their routine with a little more ease.

Every child grows at their own pace - and readiness looks different for every family. Their preschool teachers can be a great partner in noticing strengths, celebrating progress, and helping you think through what comes next.
