What a beautiful week at GGCC! ❤️
Thank you to everyone who welcomed us with such warmth, generosity, and genuine hospitality. The beauty of Mfangano Island is incredible, but it’s the people of GGCC who make this place so special.
We are leaving with full hearts, grateful for every moment, every smile, and every reminder of God’s goodness. 🇰🇪❤️

Happy Birthday to our beloved Kenya Director, Madame Nerea Mattah! 🎂 🎉❤️🇰🇪
Today we thank God for the gift of your life and for the incredible way He has called you to serve Him through the ministry of our school in Kenya. Your leadership, wisdom, faithfulness, and love for the students and staff are such a blessing to all of us.
We are so grateful for the work God is doing through you and for the many lives being impacted because of your obedience to His calling. May the Lord continue to strengthen you, guide you, and give you wisdom as you lead. May He bless you abundantly in the year ahead and remind you daily that your labor for Him is never in vain.
“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” — Proverbs 16:3
Please join us in wishing our wonderful director a very happy and blessed birthday! 🎈 May this new year of life be filled with God’s favor, joy, peace, and countless opportunities to continue doing the good work He has entrusted to you.
Happy Birthday! We love and appreciate you! ❤️

📚 When learning leaves the classroom… 🇰🇪
Our Form 4 students recently returned from an unforgettable academic tour across Kenya—from the Rift Valley to Nairobi and all the way to the Coast!
They stood at the edge of Menengai Crater, explored Hell’s Gate, encountered wildlife at Nairobi National Park, discovered Kenya’s history at the National Museum and Fort Jesus, and put their feet in the Indian Ocean. 🌍🌊
For students growing up on remote Mfangano Island, this was so much more than a school trip. Places they had studied in geography, history, and environmental science suddenly became real.
Experiences like this broaden their world, inspire curiosity, and help our students see possibilities beyond the shores of their island.
We are so grateful to the donors and friends of GGCC who made this opportunity possible. You helped turn lessons in a textbook into memories—and learning—that will last a lifetime. 💚

Sometimes joy looks like a big celebration.
And sometimes it looks like a soccer ball, a shared meal, a friend sitting beside you, or a really good laugh in the middle of an ordinary day.
These are the moments we love at GGCC.
Because between the classes, programs, and big milestones, there is life happening here. Friendships are being formed.
Confidence is growing. Faith is being strengthened. Kids are getting the chance to simply be kids.
And there is so much joy in that. ❤️

As the sun rose over Lake Victoria this morning, we were reminded of the beautiful ways God reveals Himself through His creation—in the stillness of the water, the colors of the sky, and the promise of a new day.
This week, we are gathered on Mfangano for a trauma healing course, walking through some of the hard and broken places of life and learning more about the hope and healing we find in Christ.
Perhaps that makes a sunrise like this even more meaningful.
Darkness does not have the final word. The light always comes.
“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.” — Psalm 19:1
We are grateful for this beautiful place, for those gathered with us this week, and for a God whose mercies truly are new every morning. Please continue to pray for our time together and for all God is doing here at Gethsemane Garden Christian Centre. ❤️

The campus is a little quieter these days.
The classrooms are empty. The footballs are still. The laughter that normally echoes across campus has been replaced by a season of rest.
As one term comes to a close, we're taking a moment to look back with gratitude. Every lesson taught, every meal shared, every game played, every prayer offered, and every life impacted is a reminder of God's faithfulness.
Soon, the bus will return, students will fill the walkways again, and another chapter will begin.
Until then, we're grateful for the quiet.
Thank you for walking alongside GGCC. Your prayers and generosity make moments like these possible, and we can't wait to welcome our students back for another term of learning, growth, and hope.

What a Tuesday.
Today took us into schools to encourage students, gathered women together in fellowship and worship, and continued the work of building a widow’s home.
The rain came and went, but it never slowed the joy.
There was dancing. There was laughter. There were conversations that reminded us why we’re here. Across every village, classroom, and home, we were reminded that hope is often found in the simplest moments shared together.
Thank you for being part of this story. Every prayer, every gift, and every act of generosity makes days like today possible.
What a beautiful day in Kenya.

Community isn’t just built in the big moments.
It’s found in the laughter shared between friends. In a soccer ball rolling across a dusty field. In meals prepared side by side.
In the quiet conversations during a walk.
In children running, playing, and simply being kids.
These are the moments that remind us what community really looks like—a place where people belong, where joy is shared, and where hope grows together.
This is what we’re grateful to witness every day at GGCC

Today was a beautiful picture of what it means to serve.
Our medical missions team cared for 257 people through medical consultations, dental care, eye exams, malaria treatment, pharmacy services, and compassionate follow-up. Every patient was more than a number—they were seen, heard, and cared for with dignity and love.
We’re grateful for every doctor, nurse, dentist, pharmacist, translator, volunteer, and local leader who made today possible. Thank you for using your gifts to bring hope in tangible ways.
As we continue serving throughout the week, we would love for you to pray for every patient, every provider, and every conversation. We’re thankful to be part of what God is doing in Kenya.

We're on our way. Over the next two weeks we'll serve alongside the GGCC family through medical clinics, food distribution, village outreach, and time with students who call this place home. Thank you for praying with us as the journey begins."
