Why does play matter so much in the early years? 🧩

Because young children learn actively. They stack and discover balance, sort and compare, repeat an action to see what changes, use new words during pretend play, and work through small problems with their hands.

At Legacy European Academy, purposeful play brings movement, language, creativity, investigation, and relationships into the same experience. An attentive educator can observe first, then decide whether the child needs a thoughtful question, another material, some encouragement, or simply enough time to keep trying. 🌿

These everyday experiences may look simple from the outside, but they give children meaningful ways to understand the world.

Our children recently took part in a rainforest field experience filled with animals, tropical habitats and plenty of questions.

As they explored the environment, the children noticed colors, movement and the different features animals use to live in their habitats. Experiences like this help children connect new vocabulary and early science ideas with something they can see, hear and remember together.

At Legacy European Academy, observation, conversation and questions about the natural world are an important part of meaningful early learning. We love seeing how a new environment can turn a moment of wonder into a conversation that continues long after the visit.
