Good afternoon, Matthews ES Families! This is Penni Beth Crisp with your Weekly Update. Our Boosterthon Fun Run is this week! On Monday, students can wear their favorite color to school. Tuesday will be PJ day for all students. The Boosterthon Stinger Strong Fun Run will be on Wednesday.
The schedule is as follows:
2nd and 3rd grade: 8:10 AM;
Kindergarten and 1st grade: 9:10 AM;
4th and 5th Grade-Color Run: 10:30 AM.
If your child needs sunscreen for the run, please apply before school. Please be reminded that anyone who comes to the Fun Run must sign in through Raptor and MUST have a photo ID. No exceptions will be made. The process will be much quicker for registered volunteers so if you are not a registered volunteer, please visit CMS Volunteer Registration Login to register as a volunteer. Families may check in at the lobby kiosks when they bring children to school for arrival and keep your sticker for the run.
Wednesday will also be our first early release day of the school year. Students will be dismissed at 11:45 AM and will be provided lunch before dismissal. Bus riders will arrive home three hours early and car rider/walker families should be in line by 11:45 AM. Please notify child care providers of this schedule change.
Conferences for the first quarter may begin with families on October 19th. Please look for information from your child’s teacher regarding scheduling a conference. We would like to have 100% participation in conferences this school year. Teachers can provide a virtual or in-person conference to families. Translators can be used for families who need that support. Conferences should be completed by November 6th.

**Picture Day Information (10/21): Visit https://vando.imagequix.com/S9SRC9J and enter the school Online Code 30872F2627 to order online. The preorder site closes 48 hours after the last picture day. Post picture day ordering is available once the proof sheet is emailed to your school preferred email or sent to the school. These orders include an additional shipping fee and are mailed directly to your home address. Questions, please contact customer service at 1-855-773-3321 (M-F from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm).
