Teaching children to channel difficulties through art early is critical to lifelong social emotional health. When you sing through hard (to them) things like putting on shoes, you provide a foundation to process struggles later in life. They'll know how find a “new hope or sense of triumph”, how to release frustration in a healthy way, and regulate emotions through song, movement, breathing, and support from others. This is how we build a non-violent, loving, empathetic generation. It starts small. It starts early.
