Dear Center School Families,
I hope you are continuing to have a wonderful summer! We look forward to an amazing 2026-2027 school year at Center School, filled with learning, fun, and friendships.

Classroom placement letters were sent out this afternoon, so you should receive them soon. As we get ready for the start of school, please keep these important dates in mind:
Wednesday, September 2, 2026: First day of school for students in grades 1-3.
Thursday, September 3, 2026: Kindergarten Orientation, 9:30-11:00 a.m.
Friday, September 4, 2026: Early release at 12:20 p.m.; lunches will be served.
Monday, September 7, 2026: Labor Day - No School.
Tuesday, September 8, 2026: School reopens.

We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back and making the 2026-2027 school year a wonderful one!

Artist Nick Mayer painted this piece as part of a workshop he did teaching children to paint these terrapins at Mattapoisett Center School in MA. Through NECWA's South Coast Terrapin Project, the children raised hatchling Diamondbacks in their classroom and then they released them back into the wild.

If you would like to purchase a print, proceeds go to the Nick Mayer Wildlife Fund, which aims to protect marine life and restore ocean ecosystems by combining the emotional power of art with targeted conservation efforts.

A portion of every purchase from The Giving Back Collection is donated to a specific Conservation Group working to protect that particular creature.
