Pirate Families!

Last night our school board approved a change to our district academic calendar due to the San Patricio County Show being the last week of January instead of the third week of January where it typically occurs. School will now be closed on January 28-29 instead of January 21-22.

Happy Wednesday Pirates!

We'd like to addess some of the aggressive driving happening at and around our schools. Try not to be in a hurry - we know sometimes we are running a little behind, but please don't try to make up lost time in parking lots or areas where students are walking. Focus on being courteous drivers, taking turns on entrance and exits. Each campus is a little different because of the configuration of the parking lots and areas around the school. Please do not stop on the highway or middle of the streets and call your child to the car. We've had a couple of close calls with intermediate students running through traffic.

We'll look at some potential changes to increase the safety of the students and it might add a few seconds to your drop off and pickup, but we need your help reducing the aggressive driving at our schools.

Mathis High School students will be assigned parking spots once they have submitted a current drivers license and insurance. Without these two documents, students are not allowed to park on MISD property. Please try to get these documents complete this week.

Mathis High School = "A" Rated campus

A huge congratulations to MHS staff and students! The Pirates have been designated an “A” rated campus.

This rating is based on STAAR data, college and career readiness, graduation rates, academic growth, and attendance.

MHS earned two distinctions.

This is a testament to the hard work and dedication that happens in this school everyday!
