Registration is open for a new season of MES Runners! If your student is interested in participating, they can obtain a form from their teacher. Please be sure to send it back by September 3rd. The club is open to 1st through 7th grade this year with a limit of 100 runners so get your forms in early! If you have any questions, reach out to Jennifer Doss via email at jdoss@mathews.k12.va.us.

🚗2026-2027 Car Rider Information🚗
*Please note a few clarifications on the poster including;
1.) The dismissal bell for our car riders will ring at 2:50 pm. We will get the line moving ASAP.
2.) ALL students, grades PK-7, will be dismissed from the main entrance.
3.) Several car rider decals remain unclaimed. If you would like yours sent home with your student, please send in a note to the Car Rider Team through your child’s homeroom teacher. Decals can also be picked up in the main office.
4.) For morning and afternoon dismissal, please pull down to the bike rack. Staff will es**rt the students. This is subject to change with precipitating weather. Please follow the guidance of our team to help keep arrivals and dismissals safe, smooth, and efficient!

I can’t even explain how hard these students worked tonight! Thank you to the Mathews High School Golf Team for cleaning out the flower beds at Mathews Elementary School. Thank you Amy O’Neil for reaching out to the teams, and thank you Coach Jacob, for encouraging the golf team to accept the challenge! It was hard work, and we are so thankful!

📣MES Families... yes, it's the first week of August! 🎉 That can only mean one thing—it's almost time to head back to school!

Open House is right around the corner. This is the moment families have been waiting for as students find out who their teacher is/who their teachers are, reconnect with friends, and explore the building.
