Happy Birthday, Maria Montessori.

Today, we celebrate the woman who dared to imagine something different for children.

Maria Montessori didn’t simply create a method. She asked us to see the child differently, to trust their capacity, protect their independence, and create environments that invite them to become who they are capable of becoming.

In Reimagining Elementary Montessori, I write:

“Reimagining Montessori does not mean moving away from Montessori. It means moving closer to the vision she gave us—one that was never meant to be static, but alive, responsive, and rooted in our understanding of the child.”

Her work was revolutionary because she understood that education must evolve alongside our understanding of children and the world they inhabit.

We don’t honor Montessori by keeping everything exactly as it was. We honor her by continuing to ask the questions she asked.

What does the child need now?
What does society need now?
And how can Montessori education meet this moment without losing its soul?

That is the heart of Reimagining Elementary Montessori.

Working on the final edits of my upcoming book, Reimagining Elementary Montessori: Modern Cosmic Education for Childhood.

Good thing I ordered a hard copy to make my final edits because… I forgot page numbers! Ooph. 😅 This is exactly why we do final proofs!

As I make my way through these last edits, I wanted to share the Preface, which captures the heart and vision behind this book. It is a reimagining of Elementary Montessori that honors the brilliance of Dr. Montessori’s work while exploring what Cosmic Education, peace, identity, responsibility, and human development can look like for children growing up in our world today.

This book has truly been a labor of love, and its publication date holds an especially meaningful place in my heart.

Reimagining Elementary Montessori is scheduled to be published September 11th, my late father’s birthday.

I chose this date in honor of his dedication to educators, the ways he continually guided me toward peace and love, and to continue his legacy of always striving toward the very best version of humankind.

In many ways, those same ideas live at the heart of this book: that education is about so much more than what children know. It is about helping them discover who they are, how they belong to something larger than themselves, and the responsibility they carry for one another and for the world.

Here is the Preface that shares the vision behind it all. I hope you enjoy it. ❤️
