Meet Celia Zhang! 🌟

After moving to the U.S. in March 2020, Celia and her family faced major transition challenges, including language barriers and financial stress. Driven by her desire to build a better life for her two children and return to her career in higher education, she enrolled in the ESL program at Mt. San Antonio College. Through late-night studying and total dedication, Celia’s progress was remarkable:

📘 Completed ESL and built strong community connections
📘 Accepted into the Master of Science in Higher Education program at Cal State Fullerton!
📘 Balances raising her children while working 3 jobs, including roles at Mt. SAC and CSUF

Celia’s goal is to become an adult education administrator to help other immigrants and English language learners find a sense of belonging and succeed. 📚💙

Meet Brandon Marroquin! 🌟

After dropping out of high school, navigating Special Education, and overcoming challenges with ADHD and a speech impediment, Brandon felt like giving up on his education. But in 2022, he took a bold step forward by enrolling at Fresno Adult School to earn his GED. With determination and strong support from his instructors, Brandon’s story transformed completely:

🎒 Earned GED and enrolled in Clovis Community College to study computer technology
🎒 Secured a position working in the District Office IT Department while pursuing his degree
🎒 Featured on Channel 30 news to share his story and motivate fellow adult learners
🎒 Serves as a student speaker and mentor, inspiring others to believe in their potential
