Real fires. Real conditions. Real time information.
This footage, captured through a Seek FirePRO 300, shows exactly how a thermal imaging camera can be used as more than just a tool for locating fire.
The captain is monitoring the crew’s advance, evaluating the thermal environment, watching the effects of water application, and using real time visual clues to determine whether the fire attack is making progress.
A TIC can provide another layer of information to help officers make better fireground decisions when they understand what they are seeing and, just as importantly, what the camera cannot tell them.
A huge thank you to Captain Billy Davitt for sharing this outstanding footage and allowing us to use it for training.
