Lincoln Logs were first made around 1916, over 100 years ago, by architect and toy inventor John Lloyd Wright, and have been a staple toy of the wood-loving world. It is a perfect toy that challenges children's fine motor, hand-eye coordination, logical thinking, problem solving, language and math skills!

Happy Pi Day! Today, the children are celebrating the magic of numbers and their importance in our everyday lives through fun and interactive activities in the classroom. Continue the learning at home with these fun and simple activities:

🕒Making a paper plate clock to learn about time and counting
🔺Creating patterns with blocks or shapes

Doll play is an aspect of pretend play that develops in children between 11 and 18 months. It is where children pretend ‘as if’ the doll is real and re-enact scenes and scenarios that they have observed. For example, they might pretend to feed the doll by placing a spoon to the dolls mouth, or wrap it up in their favorite blanket and put it to bed. This form of play allows them to gain a greater understanding of themselves, their family and the world around them.

You may have heard of STEM but have you heard of STREAM? Our STREAM approach to learning integrates Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Math to develop a range of skills in young learners. It fosters curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking, empowering their natural problem-solving abilities. By emphasizing cross-disciplinary learning, STREAM education goes beyond academics to equip students with a holistic understanding of the world around them, preparing them to become the next generation of innovators and problem solvers. Adding in Art and Reading not only benefit all children, but also focuses on the development of the 'whole-child'.

Community extends beyond the four walls of our child care centers, that’s why The Lightbridge Foundation is donating $5,000 to Direct Relief - earmarked for the catastrophic Turkey Syria Earthquake. Part of our mission is help those along life’s journey and with so many affected by this tragedy, we share their heartbreak and send love and prayers in this time of need!

As children become more mobile, they will start using their hands to examine objects more often. It's common for infants and toddlers to pop objects into their mouths. They are curious, and they are using all five senses to learn about their surroundings.

We ended a great week last night with our Parent’s Night Out! Our kiddos had a wonderful time AND we raised funds for our Lightbridge Foundation. 🌈

When children sort objects they are exploring that some of those things are alike and some of those things are different. Once they move onto grouping according to a number of different attributes, they learn that a single item can have many features by which it can be sorted.

The Lightbridge Journey app is used to send ongoing updates on your child. You'll receive important classroom announcements, reminders, photos, videos and daily reports. You won't miss a thing! It is also a great tool for doctor visits helping to keep track of important information such as what your child ate, how they slept and even potty details!

Mastering their fine motor and self-help skills is that moment when a toddler shouts: "I did it!" Children thrive and develop in different ways, so it is our goal to cultivate a stimulating environment that expands their innate abilities through various learning areas. Our educators encourage children with a "Learning is Fun" philosophy through play and positive reinforcement and build upon the skills they acquire at various ages and stages of their development.

Happy National Play Outside Day 🍃 Whether it’s building a snowman or riding a bike, spending play-time in the fresh air is an amazing way to build your child’s physical and cognitive development from home. Post a picture of your family enjoying the great outdoors!

First week of January was SNOW-much fun! Our infants and toddlers explored textures that resembled snow, our Pre-k children had a “snow ball” fight, & we ended the week by celebrating our awesome teacher & her soon to be here baby boy!

that children benefit greatly from Yoga & Mindfulness practices? It helps them learn how to use their breathing and bodies to relieve their stress, calm their minds and nervous system.
