Our 55th year of learning through play begins next week! PNS offers your choice of 2 to 5 half or full day classes for children 2 1/2 - 6 years old. There is still time to register but don't delay... availability is limited for our 3's class. Come learn, grow, and PLAY with us!

PNS/FPC is getting a new security system! The new system includes cameras, intercoms, and many upgrades throughout the building. Installation began today. We anticipate the system to be ready when school starts in September!

Exciting things happening at PNS!! PNS is now participating in the Childcare Referral Subsidy Program. The New Jersey Child Care Assistance Program helps income-eligible parents who are in school or working to pay for child care. Call our office for more information.

Presbyterian Nursery School has lost much-loved teacher Melinda Cavagnaro, who died last night. Mrs. Cavagnaro was a teacher of three – year – old children for her twenty-four year career at PNS. She also served as Office Administrator for many of those years, organizing student records and keeping up-to-date the documents for the school’s licensing requirements. She could deal with local and state inspectors and officials with confidence and a smile. After her official retirement from teaching, she began returning daily to PNS as a volunteer, just to help by playing with the children – her joy.

Hundreds of children and their families benefitted from her caring, fun-loving expertise in the field of Early Childhood Education and her kindness to those who came to know her. She was a pillar of the PNS staff, elevating us all in the service of young children and their families.

Chicks!! From top to bottom... Chip (short for Chipmunk Fudge), Michele, Sunshine Ruby, Charlie, and Speedy!

The chicks have started to hatch!! The first chick Michele hatched on Tuesday afternoon. This morning when we arrived at school 3 more had hatched. Then #5 surprised us this afternoon. We named #5 Speedy because it hatched so quickly we missed it!

The fertilized chicken eggs are here. In 15 days the chicks will begin to hatch!! Everyday we look for changes. Anything yet? No... still 7 eggs. 5 eggs are brown, 1 is blueish green, and 1 is greenish gray. Waiting is hard. We talk to them and tell them to grow little chicks grow. We can't wait to meet you!!

Registration for the 2022/23 school year is under way! PNS class schedules offer families a choice of 2 to 5 half or full days a week for 3, 4, and 5-year-olds. Our 2 1/2 - young 3's class meets 2 or 3 days a week. Private tours are available! Come PLAY with us!!

Summer cleaning and maintenance! Here at PNS we are fortunate to have 2 large playgrounds. This is part of our 3's playground used by our 2 1/2 & 3 year olds. Our 4's playground has beautiful views of the lake.

We have exciting news to share for the 2021/2022 school year... PNS will offer a class for 2 1/2 and young 3 year olds that are ready to come to school without their grown up! Your choice of 2 or 3 days a week. Our new class offering is in addition to our much beloved Transitional 3's class that is a parent/grown up and me class. In an abundance of caution and to follow school closures announced by the Matawan Aberdeen Regional School District, PNS will be closed starting Monday, March 16 until further notice due to the Covid-19 virus. Please contact your teacher with any concerns or questions. When classes resume for MARSD, PNS will resume classes. Be well and enjoy this time with your family.
