A New 4-H Year Is Here!

Join us on Tuesday, September 1st for a Motley 4-H enrollment meeting from 5:00 to 6:30 pm at the Motley County Courthouse. We have a new online enrollment system and many other important items to discuss. We look forward to seeing you there!

Anyone wanting to show a lamb, goat, or heifer at any of the Texas major shows this upcoming spring should contact the extension office with your validation tag orders. Orders are due by August 31st and will be $30.00 each. Please call (806) 347-2733 or (806) 269-5154 to get your orders in.

We are super proud of Ryder Russell for placing 3rd in the Goat category with his district record book. With a new all-online format, this was a challenging undertaking. Keep doing great things, Ryder!

Wherever these 3 Motley 4-H Members are, you can bet something fun is going on! We had a great time at Teen Leader Lab in Brownwood this week. Thank you Cambry, Kyra, and Ryder for making it a blast!

We have many new activities for this year’s camp! You don’t need to be a 4-H member to participate, just bring an adult with you. Please contact the extension office to get enrolled. We look forward to seeing you in Roaring Springs on the 23rd!

Great job photography participants! Junior 4-H member Liam Radford and intermediate members Zaylee Wilkerson, Eli Radford and Rowdy Mendolla received blue and red awards on their submitted pictures. Zaylee also received best in category for her submission of our volunteer firefighters in the themed category of Volunteerism! Be looking for a photography workshop this summer, and remember photography is a year-long project so keep taking those photos! A special thank you goes out to D’anna Russell for sharing her time and energy with our kids and their great photography!

Great day of meat judging at the 4-H District 3 Contest at Texas Tech. Kenzi Koepke was 5th individual in intermediates and along with teammates Holt Kitchens and Kylee Quilimaco were the 3rd place team. Teg Gleghorn was 4th high individual in the senior division. Congratulations to these kids and thank you Texas Tech for hosting us again!
