We are looking to expand our office staff we are looking for an office manager here is the job description

Office Manager
Canton Electrical JATC — Massillon, OH
About the Role
Canton Electrical JATC trains the next generation of electricians through hands-on apprenticeship and
classroom instruction — and none of it runs smoothly without strong administrative leadership behind
the scenes. We’re seeking an experienced Office Manager to take ownership of our day-to-day office
operations and serve as the organizational hub connecting our committee, directors, instructors, and
apprentices. This is a step up from a clerical role: you’ll manage office systems, supervise administrative
workflows, and keep the organization running smoothly, with real ownership over how the office
operates.
We’re looking for a self-directed, organized professional with strong communication skills, sound
judgment, and a genuine interest in supporting a mission-driven training program. Experience with basic
accounting or accounts payable processes is a strong plus, though not required.
Responsibilities
• Oversee daily office operations and serve as the primary point of contact for phone calls, visitors,
and general inquiries.
• Manage schedules, appointments, and calendars for directors and staff.
• Develop, implement, and maintain office policies, procedures, and filing systems (digital and
physical).
• Maintain accurate, well-organized records across office administration, general recordkeeping, and
financial documentation.
• Prepare, review, and distribute correspondence and reports for the committee.
• Coordinate and compile regular reports to support informed administrative decision-making.
• Manage vendor relationships, order office supplies, and oversee office budget and expenses.
• Supervise and support administrative/clerical staff as needed.
• Coordinate logistics for meetings, training, and special events.
• Occasional travel (less than 10%) for training and industry events.
Skills & Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or relevant coursework preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in an administrative, office management, or supervisory role.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
• Working knowledge of office management systems, procedures, and budgeting.
Bonus Skills
• Experience with basic accounting or accounts payable processes (e.g., QuickBooks) — a definite
plus, though not required.
• Experience with FileMaker Pro, Constant Contact, WordPress, or video editing.
• Familiarity with the electrical industry or apprenticeship/educational requirements.
Job Details
• Job Type: Full-time
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (with occasional evening work for special events).
• Pay: $24.00 – $26.00 per hour (commensurate with experience).
• Benefits: Health insurance, life insurance, paid time off, retirement plans, professional development
assistance.

⚡ Electrical workers keep our world running - powering schools, hospitals, traffic lights, and businesses every day.

And there's another side to the work, too: the Broadway marquee. The city skyline. The stadium lights on a kid's first game. The stage for a first live set. The storefront sign that finally reads "open."

Electrical workers don't just keep the lights on...they help light the way to what's possible.
