National recognition for Jackson High School’s Sparkbyte!
Our Junior Achievement of North Central Ohio student company spent the last four days in Boston competing against 15 of the best student companies in the country — and they are bringing home two national awards:
🥇 FedEx Global Possibilities Award
🥇 Citizens Future-Ready Workforce Award
Throughout the competition, students completed an annual report, produced a commercial, presented at a trade show booth and delivered a live presentation. They also visited Harvard and even practiced their JA pitch in the theatre foyer — a memorable part of a trip built around learning, preparation and teamwork.
Experiences like this help educate students to think like business-minded entrepreneurs. They learn how to communicate ideas, solve problems, lead with confidence and represent their work in front of others.
Sparkbyte has now competed nationally twice in the last three years and earned awards both times. That says a lot about our students, staff and the opportunities available at Jackson High School.
Congratulations, Sparkbyte! Our community has a lot to be proud of.

What a weekend for Jackson Track and Field.
The Polar Bears made history at the OHSAA State Championships, bringing home multiple Division I state titles and giving our community plenty to celebrate.
Congratulations to seniors Micah Regimbal, Preston Young, Jackson Baker and Corey Jacobs, who won the boys Division I 4x100 relay state title — the first boys track state championship in Jackson High School history.
Congratulations to junior Gabby Whalen, who won the girls Division I pole vault state title with a vault of 12-6.
And congratulations to Abby LaPole, who became a three-time state champion in the seated shot put.
These moments reflect talent, preparation, coaching, teamwork and the kind of commitment that creates lifelong lessons for our students. Polar Bear Nation is proud of you.

The Jackson Township Rotary Club is seeking host families for its 2026-2027 exchange student from Japan.
Families are needed to host for a 3-month period and help welcome an energetic student who enjoys soccer, cycling, fishing, playing guitar, and trying new foods.
Hosting is a great way to give a student a meaningful experience in our community while also giving your family — and our students — the chance to learn about another culture firsthand. These connections help make Jackson such a special place to live, learn, and grow.
Interested in hosting or learning more? Contact Aletha Carver at (330) 614-1367 or [email protected].

Eighth-grade students recently shared their learning at the Genius Hour Showcase at Jackson Memorial Middle School.
Throughout the year, students explored topics they cared about, asked questions, solved problems, created products, and built projects around their own interests. The showcase gave them a chance to explain their work, share what they learned, and take pride in the process.
Thank you to the Jackson Local Schools Foundation, the JMMS PATT, and ArtsinStark for supporting these student learning opportunities.

Congratulations to the Jackson High School Creative Writing Team for representing Jackson at the JustWrite State Tournament at Bluffton University last week!
This experience gave our students the chance to write, think creatively, and compete alongside talented writers from across the state. A special congratulations to Gia Ciccolini, who earned 11th place out of nearly 200 students in the 9-10 grade division.
We are proud of our students for taking on this challenge and representing Jackson so well!
