"I'm bored" isn't always about boredom.

Sometimes it's a child asking...

"What's next?"

Summer gives us something the school year doesn't—time.

Instead of rushing to solve the boredom, try giving them one small task they can complete independently.

⭐ Feed the pet.
⭐ Put away the toys.
⭐ Match the socks.
⭐ Water a plant.
⭐ Help set the table.

It doesn't have to be a big job.

Every time children complete something on their own, they build more than a skill—they build confidence, independence, and a belief that they can do hard things.

Sometimes the smallest moments become the biggest opportunities for growth.

Every year, I see the same thing happen.

Parents spend months planning camps, vacations and summer activities... and then August arrives.

Camp ends.
The routine disappears.
The days somehow feel longer, and patience is definitely shorter.
School is suddenly right around the corner, and rebuilding routines and setting expectations can feel like the hardest job we've had all summer.

The truth is, September doesn't start on the first day of school.

It starts in the weeks before—when we begin rebuilding routines, setting expectations and helping our children transition back into structure.

That's exactly why I created the August Reset.
