September’s is a 11 year old pianist and clarinetist, who has been taking lessons with Center Stage Music Center for about five years now. His instructor, Ms. Debbie, tells us that “he has done an exceptional job maintaining motivation, discipline, and most important, a consistent practice schedule!” She continues, “his love for music shines through in his super fun band performances with Spiral, and also gained him outstanding scores on his first 2 NYSSMA trials.” In the past, the musician has performed NYSSMA Level 3 on piano and NYSSMA Level 2 on clarinet. He has also performed in “five pop-up bands” (his favorite one performed Outkast’s “Hey Ya”). Ms. Debbie continues, “as he gears up for level 4, he has taken every sight-reading and scale challenge with grace and intelligence, and makes our lessons so fun with his great sense of humor, while never failing to work hard.” In an exclusive interview with Center Stage, the musician tells us that he is especially proud of having learned the two octave scale on the clarinet in school and that his favorite song that he has learned thus far has been the Beatles’s “Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.” When he grows up, the musician wants to remain a musician!
