Today we welcomed our staff back with our School Year Kickoff event. One of the sessions was a WTC student panel, moderated by our very own Monique Colizzi. The students shared their experiences at the WTC, talked about people who have inspired them or made a lasting impression on them and how the skills they are learning will impact their futures. We want to thank the students who participated, it was very motivational as we start a new school year!

New Instructor Introduction!

We would like to welcome Brad Delaney as our new Investigations instructor as part of our Criminal Justice program at the WTC. Brad comes to us after a 25 year career with the Ingham County Sheriff's Office where he served in multiple roles such as corrections deputy, patrol deputy, Detective and Sergeant. Almost half of his career was spent within an investigative unit.

He is a graduate of Holt High School and earned his Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Ferris State University. Brad is excited to bring his recent real-world experiences to the students and continue to prove the law enforcement community is made up of honest, hard-working people with the utmost integrity. Specifically, he looks forward to sharing his previous work experience in many investigative units (homicide, robbery, undercover and fraud) with his students.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, attending MSU sporting events and traveling. He has been scuba diving for over 20 years and looks forward to his next warm water dive.

Welcome letters are being mailed this week! All returning and new incoming students will receive their Welcome Letter later this week. Please make sure to complete the online Emergency Contact Form as soon as possible. We need to have one on file for each student before school begins. Even returning students will need to have an updated form completed.

The Welcome Letter will have a copy of the School Year Calendar as well as information on purchasing parking permits if your student plans to drive to the WTC.

Students will have their ID photos taken on Tuesday, September 8 during their program time.

👨‍🍳🎉 July is National Culinary Arts Month!

This month, we celebrate the talented students and dedicated instructors in Wilson Talent Center's Culinary Arts & Hospitality program. Through creativity, hard work and a passion for serving others, these future culinary professionals are developing skills that will last a lifetime.

From crafting original recipes and competing in culinary events to operating Michigan's only high school food truck, students gain experiences that challenge them to grow as chefs, teammates and leaders. Their commitment to excellence reflects the innovation and professionalism that define the culinary and hospitality industry.

Thank you to our students, instructors, families and community partners who help make these opportunities possible. We're proud to celebrate all they accomplish in the kitchen, the classroom and beyond. 💙🍽️
