Cincinnati Telugu School is an independent organization devoted exclusively to teaching Telugu to our children. Cincinnati Telugu School (CTS) started in June 2006 and has been serving on average 35 children, organized into 5 classes and taught by 10 te
achers each year. We are admitting new students for the next school year which will commence in late August 2013. CTS classes are held on Saturday afternoons. Currently, CTS quarterly fee is about $75 (approximately 10 classes per quarter) which pays for facilities rental, material, texts etc. CTS teachers and administrators are unpaid volunteers. Enrollment Eligibility and Requirements:
1. For enrollment, the date of birth of the child must be on or before 8/31/2008 (that is, 5 years completed by August 31st, 2013). Ideally, the child would be in elementary or middle school. However, high school children are welcome as well.
2. It is necessary that a parent or an elder at home must speak Telugu and be the home teacher to guide the child learning Telugu.
3. Parents are expected to volunteer for teaching, administrative help and other school chores. They may be requested from time to time for such help.
4. Parent participation in the class may be requested for the younger children until the child and the parents get comfortable with the process and expectations. Enrollment will be on a first come first served basis. We will do our best to accommodate all applications received before this date.
