Ingham Intermediate School District is a regional education service agency and has been in operation since 1962. Our service area extends into seven counties; however, we primarily serve the schools in Ingham County. Ingham ISD's main campus is in Mason, but many of our 350 staff members work directly in local schools and in community settings.

Last week, Heartwood School welcomed students and families for an Open House!

Families had the opportunity to meet teachers and staff, visit classrooms, play games and reconnect with friends before heading into the 2026-27 school year.

Thank you to everyone who came out to spend time with us and get ready for the year ahead!🐯✨

Schools across our service area are back in session, which means school buses are back on the roads! As students return to school, please be extra alert behind the wheel. Watch for buses making frequent stops, students crossing the street and increased traffic around schools and bus stops.

Slow down, stay focused and be aware of your surroundings. Let’s all do our part to keep students safe and avoid “rushing” into something! Here’s to a safe and successful school year!

What a day of inspiration, learning and connection! Yesterday, Ingham ISD staff came together for the 2026-27 school year kickoff with “The Power of What If?”

Putting student voice at the center as we continue to shape meaningful learning experiences and opportunities for the students we serve.

The morning kicked off with Superintendent Jason Mellema and CJ from WCJR Weather, followed by an inspiring message from educator and disability advocate Jordyn Zimmerman. We wrapped up the day hearing directly from students with a Wilson Talent Center student panel.

A great way to begin a new school year, grounded in connection, possibility and the voices that matter most—our students. We’re excited for what’s ahead! 🚀✨
