This week's Feature Friday is Toby!

Since this past Fall, Toby has been balancing work and school. He showed interest in employment with us when our GM and Km spoke to his class at school. Toby immediately filled out an application and worked his way through the hiring process. He's been working hard since then!

Toby's favorite menu item at the moment is the Chicken Avocado Sandwich.

He says he likes working at Boulder Tap House-Mason City because "I like all the employees. It's nice talking to everyone."

It’s been a busy couple of days for the 11th and 12th graders. Wednesday, we spent the morning working with the city planting over 40 trees in less than 2 hours. Thursday a select group were able to tour Principal Financials headquarters down in Des Moines. Friday we spent all after noon cleaning up Central Park and the bus stop. Don’t worry we still found time to learn in the classroom. But with iJag we like to spend more time out of the classroom and working on real world projects!

A select group of 11th and 12th graders went to Des Moines today to visit Principal Financials headquarters. One of our community partners who have done a lot for us in the classroom!

On May 6th, 8th Grade iJAG students Gregor and Kyler had the opportunity to attend the iJAG Skills Development Conference at UNI. They competed in the categories of Prepared Speaking and Career Prep, participated in a team building workshop, did some networking with other iJAG students from across eastern Iowa, and completed a service project. What a great experience and a fun day!

The JAMS iJAG classroom door is ready for the last month of school thanks to some awesome 7th & 8th iJAG students!

8th grade iJAG students from John Adams Middle School had an amazing time at Build My Future at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines on Wednesday, April 15.

Joining more than 2,600 iJAG middle and high school students from across Iowa, they explored hands-on career opportunities and discovered what their futures could look like. As the largest interactive career event for Iowa youth, Build My Future gave students a chance to learn by doing—and have a blast while doing it!

The future is looking bright… and our students are just getting started!
