What an incredible day at the Target Center! Yesterday, the NIACC Continuing Education team took five charter buses filled with 255 excited WNBA fans to watch the Minnesota Lynx take on the Indiana Fever. From the energy on the buses to the excitement of the game, it was a fun and memorable experience!

There is always something new happening on the NIACC campus! Construction is underway on a new 14,000-square-foot mini-pitch near Campus View Student Housing and the student dining center. The lighted recreational space will feature soccer goals, basketball hoops and pickleball courts, giving students even more ways to stay active, have fun and connect on campus. The mini-pitch will also connect to miles of walking and biking trails that link the NIACC campus to Mason City’s extensive trail system, beautiful parks, world-class mountain biking trails and a wide range of outdoor recreational opportunities. NIACC received support for this project through the US Soccer Foundation and Musco Sports Lighting.

After an early start this morning, crews are about halfway done laying sod on our soccer field. It looks amazing! This is one of the first steps in our new athletic complex project, which also includes artificial turf baseball and softball fields. Curiosity, creativity and hands-on learning were on full display at NIACC's STEM Careers Camp this week. Students spent time exploring interactive activities, problem-solving challenges and real-world experiences. Along the way, they built new skills, worked together and discovered how STEM can lead to exciting educational and career opportunities. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this year's STEM Careers Camp a HUGE success!

We are incredibly grateful to Eric Kacer and his family for their generosity and support of NIACC's EDUCATE program.

Following the success of the 2nd Annual Andrew's You've Got a Friend in Me Car Show, Eric presented a scholarship donation to benefit EDUCATE students. Held in memory of his son, Andrew, the car show honors Andrew's legacy by bringing the community together to create opportunities for students with disabilities as they pursue their educational and career goals.
