Big weekend in Ptown - in addition to the Year Rounders' Fest, Red Hawk Singers & Dancers will be at Ptown IB School from 3-5pm on Sat 3/11, as part of Wellfleet Historical Society Museum and MLK Action Team Cape Cod's ongoing series, "Building Relationships, Buidling Equity: Acknowledging Continuing Wampanoag Presence on Cape Cod"– and we're so grateful for the opportunity to support this culturally important learning series.

A little more: The Red Hawk Singers and Dancers are world renown Native American performers of Native American music and dance. "We want the world to hear our trials and tribulations. To be Indigenous is to be one with Mother Earth: to give before we take. Our ways of cleansing the mind, body and soul are inspirational. For over 20 years we have been one of the most premier Native American performers of Native American music and dance."

During the most recent , CheeNulka Pocknett of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe and the Red Hawk Singers and Dancers visited the Laboratory to share an afternoon of song and dance.

The concert was the culmination of months of hard work put forth by a new group at the Laboratory called the Native American and Indigenous Circle of Lincoln Laboratory (NICL), an employee resource group-in-the-making and the Laboratory’s first Native American and Indigenous Peoples group.

“November was the Laboratory's inaugural celebration of Native American Heritage Month,” said Hannah Walters, Security Services Department, who helped organize the event. “The Red Hawk Singers and Dancers' performance allowed Laboratory members to honor Native American history from the experience, perspective, traditions, and knowledge of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe.”
