🍎🍏 A is for Apple in Pre-K! 🍎🍏
Last week, our Pre-K classroom was all about apples, apples, and more apples! We had so much fun learning about how apples grow, discovering the surprise hidden inside each apple, and exploring all the different kinds, colors, and varieties of apples. 🍎🌳 The children were especially fascinated to learn that our green apple was called “Granny Smith!” We just loved hearing their reactions when they realized an apple could have a name like Granny! 😂🍏
We also spent lots of time learning about the letter A- we practiced recognizing it, forming it and listening for its sound. Our apple learning continued with apple painting, apple playdough, and several apple-themed sensory bins that kept little hands busy exploring and creating. 🎨🍎
We read Ten Apples Up On Top and then put our balancing skills to the test! 🍎🍎🍎 We worked carefully to stack as many apples as we could before our towers came tumbling down. With lots of careful placement, concentration, and self-correction, many of our preschoolers were able to stack up to 8 apples—and one determined little learner stacked an amazing 12 apples, setting a new Mashpee Creative record! 🏆🍎🙌
We ended our apple-filled week with an apple taste test! 🍏🍎 We sampled three different varieties and recorded our favorites on our class chart. We quickly discovered that choosing just ONE favorite was much harder than we expected! 😂 So many of our little taste testers loved all three that they simply couldn’t choose—and proudly recorded all three as their favorites! ❤️🍎
What a sweet week of learning, exploring, tasting, creating, counting, and having fun with apples! 🍎✨
