Friday marked Mrs. Maria Paquin’s last day at Holy Childhood School after over 43 years of teaching.

There were a lot of tears, hugs, and so much love as we celebrated a woman who has truly shaped generations of students with her kindness, patience, and unwavering dedication. She has been a constant blessing to our school community, and it’s hard to imagine the halls without her presence.

We are so excited for her next chapter and so deeply grateful for the legacy she leaves behind. Her impact will continue to live on in every student she has taught and every heart she has touched.

A beautiful reminder from St. Thérèse of Lisieux:
“Miss no single opportunity of making some small sacrifice, here by a smiling look, there by a kindly word; always doing the smallest right and doing it all for love.”

Thank you, Mrs. Paquin, for living that so faithfully every single day. You will be so deeply missed, and always remembered.

Summer vacation is here! ⛱️🕶️🌞

On Friday, students lined the halls to bid farewell to staff before saying goodbye to each other for the summer. Enjoy the break everyone!

Our HCS alumni that graduated from MHS on Sunday have us beaming with pride! Countless scholarships, senior class president, many awards and accolades, but more importantly, they are good people. Congratulations to them and all of the class of 2026. May God bless you in your future!

One of the traditions that makes HCS so special is our end of the year school picnic. On Friday, students of all ages were divided into teams and worked together throughout the morning to create a team flag and name, then moved to stations together completing various activities. They enjoyed three-legged races, a dance party station, bounce house, water balloons, parachute games, sack races, making giant bubbles, and more! Thank you to the many volunteers who made the day run smoothly!

Yesterday, the HCS class of 2026 graduated. They are a bright, talented, artistic, charismatic, and kind group of students. Congratulations and God bless you in your future, girls!

These lucky boys were able to ride to school in a firetruck today! The ride was donated to the Holy Childhood School dinner auction by the Mascoutah Fire Department. Thank you, MFD, for supporting HCS!

What a day for HCS Apaches track and field! Competing at the 2026 SIJHSAA Class S Championships on Saturday, we brought home 8 PRs, 7 school records, 3 Class S state meet records, and the 2nd place team trophy for the 8th grade girls!

LucyJean C got it started on Saturday and took sole control of the parochial school record in the high jump placing third in state with a jump of 4-10!

Paisley C then stole the show with a jump of 18-3 on her first attempt of the day! The jump was a nearly 2 foot PR and broke the Class S State Meet record by nearly a full foot!

As action moved to the track, Ellison L stopped the clock at 15.13s, beating the previous state record of 16.39s!

Next up was our 4x100m relay team of Halle B, Ellison L, LucyJean C and Paisley C. These girls finished in second place in a time of 51.88, lowering their own school record by nearly a full second.

The same team came right back two events later in the 4x200m relay, shattering their own school record by over four seconds to once again finish second.

Ellison L was back on the track next. With no barriers in the way, Elli blazed the track with a time of 12.14, becoming the back to back 8th Grade 100m state champion and claiming her second Class S State Meet record of the day, beating the old record of 13.07s!

Paisley C the returned for her fourth and final event, the 200m dash. Paisley lowered her PR finishing in a time of 27.35s en route to a fifth place finish and four huge team points!

In the showstopper, the 4x400m relay, the team of Halle B, MaryGrace B, Sophia U, and Brielle W also lowered their season best and school record by over two full seconds crossing the line at 4:42.24s to finish seventh and put the finishing touches on the team’s second place finish!

And with that, the 2026 HCS Apaches track and field season is officially wrapped! Thank you, Coach Anderson, for your dedication to all of our athletes this season!
