Summer Spotlight🌟Aislin McCall

Regional Dance America opens doors to the professional dance world and beyond. RDA’s signature Scholarship & Recruitment Process is a cornerstone of their mission and gives young talented dancers opportunities beyond their regional borders. They welcome all professional training programs, company, college, and university recruiters to participate in their Scholarship & Recruitment Process and offer letters of encouragement, letters of acceptance, and scholarships to our dancers. One of the MANY reasons why we are so proud to be members of RDA and so grateful for what it allows us to offer our dancers. Summer Spotlight🌟Kayla Ferguson

Kayla Ferguson attended University of North Carolina’s School of the Arts Classical Ballet Intensive and we are so proud of her! Kayla received a partial scholarship through Regional Dance America’s Scholarship program, as well as a partial scholarship from UNCSA, and the Dancing Angels Foundation provided her with a scholarship. We are so proud of her hard work and are excited to welcome her back into the studios! Join us in congratulating Kayla!🎉

We are proud members of Regional Dance America/Southeast and are incredibly grateful for the two wonderful summer programs that they provide, as well as the value and care that they bring to each of our dancer’s journeys! We are happy to share that Ms. Laura will be continuing to teach Contemporary to our VMSD students this year! And that we will be adding a class level! Our students are incredibly lucky to work with active professional dancers and learn from all the wisdom that they have to offer. (Ages 10+) Contemporary class heavily focuses on improvisation skills, utilizing a wide range of textures and qualities, and how to morph traditional classical and modern techniques into Contemporary movement.

Placement for Contemporary classes is at the discretion of our VMSD Faculty. Dancers who are not yet at a level for Contemporary will be placed in a Modern class, as we use our Modern classes as a base for Contemporary.

We are excited to begin our Summer Intensive this morning! The next two weeks will be focused on enhancing their movement, elevating their technique, and embracing their artistry! Full of Ballet, Pointe, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Jazz, and Musical Theater classes lead by our incredible faculty.

Our incredible Tap Teacher, Ms. Chloe Melton, will be leading class tonight based on the fundamentals of Tap with an emphasis on basic steps which will be put into phrases. Whether you’re 6 years old or 16, give it a try! Only $10 a person! Step into rhythym with Tap shoes or tennis shoes.
