Our Assistant Director of Internships & Career Services, Leah Hadder, served as a panelist for the East Tennessee Career Services Panel at the recent UTK Employer Relations Summit, hosted by the UTK Center for Career Development and Academic Exploration. The panel included representatives from UTK, Pellissippi State Community College, Roane State Community College, East Tennessee State University, and South College. Leah was excited to represent Maryville College to share about best recruitment practices, connecting students to valuable employment opportunities, and answer questions relevant to institutional engagement. Go Scots!

POV: You stopped by a Career Center event “real quick”—whether it was a tabling, fair, mock interview, or class visit—and left with internship leads, resume edits, and a plan for the future! Thank you, Scots, for an incredible academic year! Have a wonderful summer, and we’ll see you in August!

Dr. Crystal Colter (Chair of the Division of Behavioral Sciences & Professor of Psychology, Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach), Ms. Tina Goodacre (Director of Human Resources), and Ms. Leah Hadder (Asst. Director of Internships & Career Services, Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach), recently held the first of a series of sessions entitled, “Strengths at Work,” a professional development seminar hosting discussions of how to utilize CliftonStrengths at the workplace. Three important aspects of CliftonStrengths were addressed: introducing its framework and Strengths-based development, helping participants explore and interpret their Top 5 results, and reflection of how to apply their Strengths in workplace settings such as in professional roles, projects, or goals. The session was made possible by support of a Gibson grant.
