Hi All- Kamp was great and we had a wonderful two weeks with friends new and old. Follow the link and see a few pictures with more on the way.

Kamp 2024 is a Wrap. A Great Two Weeks and Donna's Light Up Molatedi Village School Project

My giving and caring wife Donna Dixon has started a Go Fund Me Page to raise money to light the nights of the school kids near the lodge that we Photo Safari at - Medikwe South Africa.
Most of the kids homes have no power so reading and doing school work is by candle light or sunlight. She has found a solar light that has 300 lumens. She worked a deal (grant) with the manufacturer and now has a Go Fund Me Page.
The lights can also charge a cell phone.
Retail at $50 she is getting them at $35.

Wayne Henderson Guitar Competition Open – Last Year for Competition Registration is open for guitarists who wish to compete in the 30th annual Wayne C. Henderson Music Festival and Guitar Competition at Grayson Highlands State Park. The winner will be awarded a handmade Henderson guitar.

Applications must be received between April 1 and May 1. To register, send a completed application form and a $20 fee by personal check or money order payable to the Wayne C. Henderson Guitar Competition. Download the form from www.waynehenderson.org and mail it to: Wayne Henderson Guitar Competition, c/o Bob DeSanto, 475 Pine City Rd. Galax, VA 24333.

Twenty contestant applications and 10 alternate contestant applications will be selected. The first 20 will be drawn at random and approved as contestants by the contestant selection committee. The next 10 will be drawn at random and approved
as alternates.
The prizes for second through fifth place have been increased this year. Second place, $1,000; third, $750, fourth, $500; and fifth, $250. All competitors receive free passes to the festival and parking passes for the Grayson Highlands State Park.

The family-friendly festival will be Saturday, June 15, 2024, “rain or shine”, at Grayson Highlands State Park in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia. In addition to the Contest, the Festival this year will feature performances by Bill and the Belles, The Burnett Sisters, Wayne Henderson and Friends and many others. Free children’s events and music are scheduled. Admission is $20, and children 12
and younger get in free. There is a state park fee.

Since the festival began in 1995, more than $400,000 has been awarded to aid young, local, traditional musicians in continuing their music exploration and education. Details at www.waynehenderson.org.
