MJHS students in the Fine Arts pathway had an opportunity to go behind the scenes at the Clayton Center for the Arts and discover careers that help bring a performing arts venue to life.

Students explored areas including stagecraft, set construction, lighting, sound, rigging, ticketing, box office operations, and the art gallery. They also experienced areas most visitors never get to see, including the orchestra pit and auditorium catwalk.

A special thank you to Christina Sayer and the entire Clayton Center for the Arts team for sharing their time, expertise, and passion with our students. It was inspiring to see how much they love what they do, and how much pride they have in their work. Their enthusiasm gave our students a firsthand look at what it means to turn a passion into a career and enlightened them about the opportunities that exist behind the scenes in the arts and entertainment industry.

Who doesn't love to travel? Josh Jones, with ADJ Travel Company, was our Ready Graduate partner today. He shared information with our students about possible careers in the travel & tourism industry. He also gave students an opportunity to take a "Travel Quiz."

It's always great to have amazing local partners who enjoy sharing information with our students. Big thanks to Josh and Adrian Jones for helping our students "see the world" of opportunities in the tourism pathway.

Today, our students enjoyed an up-close look at careers in the beauty industry as we welcomed Tennessee School of Beauty to MJHS!

Huge thanks to Brooklyn McMillian for bringing so much energy and enthusiasm to our Lunch & Learn! Brooklyn shared products of the trade, informational materials, and insight into the many educational and career opportunities available through Tennessee School of Beauty. Experiences like these help our students see possibilities, explore interests, and connect what they are learning today to their future careers.
