KITE FESTIVAL NEWS:
The City of Maryville has informed us that there is a rule against any money changing hands in a public park. We have been holding this festival w/vendors and kite sales for over 11 years, but, somehow, they failed to inform us of this rule until recently.
We tried for months to get an exemption, but failed. We came up with a plan to pre-sell tickets and that seemed to be working… until 2 weeks ago, when we were informed that food trucks are not allowed to operate in public parks AT ALL… period.
We will be moving the festival, next year, to a private location (details are still being worked out) but this year, we will have to cancel the event. 😭 We are committed to getting the event up and running again and we will see you all in the spring of 2024… God willing!
