Hello BHEA Families!
We wanted to send out a quick update regarding registration and renewal for the 2026–2027 school year.
At this time, registration and membership renewal are not yet open as we are in the final stages of updating the 2026–2027 BHEA Handbook. We are also currently working through several important details for the upcoming year, including securing a location and finalizing possible updates to enrichment terms, conditions, dates, and any related changes that may come with those adjustments.
We appreciate your patience as we work carefully to ensure everything is ready before opening registration. Our goal is to provide clear and accurate information to all families from the start.
We will announce as soon as registration and renewal officially open. Thank you for being part of the BHEA community, and we are looking forward to another wonderful school year together!

BHEA is pleased to welcome Katie Caputo to the Board of Directors, where she will serve as our new Enrichment Team Coordinator. She will be working with Jennifer Thompson as Jennifer finishes her term in the spring, learning the responsibilities of leading the enrichment team. We are very excited to have her on board. We look forward to working with her and to seeing how she grows and strengthens our program.
Katie has been a BHEA member since 2022 and joined the Enrichment Team in the spring of 2025. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and a doctorate in naturopathic medicine, but stepped away from private practice to raise and homeschool her two children, both of whom have been homeschooled since kindergarten. Her family lives in Alcoa and can often be found enjoying our area’s beautiful parks. She enjoys reading, gardening, renovating her 100-year-old home, and visiting new countries.
