Daylight Voice Studio

Daylight Voice Studio Daylight Voice Studio: A place of radical acceptance where you can sing with joy. I am Dr. Rachel.

Inspirational vocal coach Dr. Rachel helps singers find joy in vocal exploration, suspend judgment, follow their intuition, and ultimately communicate through song. CORE CONCEPT: The more we explore the possibilities of our voice, the more options we have to play with for the “final product.” How many shades and variations of sound can we integrate into our vocal approach? I will hold space for you as you learn there is no “wrong” way to sing. I will hold space for you as you try out your wings and explore the luminous possibilities that come when you sing with joy. I will hold space for you as you speak to yourself from a place of self-compassion, singing from a lighter place of joy, celebrating humanity in all its messiness. I encourage singers to explore sounds, genres, styles, texts, topics, and composers outside of their comfort zone. Learning requires compassion, understanding, empathy, acceptance, joy, and change for both the singing student and the voice teacher. We will forever be changing and expanding, as we experience new possibilities in every new moment. At Daylight Voice Studio, we embrace the sometimes messy, the loud, the uncomfortable, and sometimes the frustration that comes with learning a physical skill of coordination, a skill which lives inside our bodies and is fueled by our passion, joys, fears, magic, and delightful chaos.

Did you have questions like: Where do I even start? I *need* a solution and can't find one. *How* do I learn to do it differently? I know what I *want* to do but have no idea how to get there.

Hi, I'm Rachel, the joyful singing teacher and I help humans who feel disconnected from their body and voice find joy in singing. I wholly believe that singing is a fundamental human right--we are physiologically hardwired to sing (yes, there's science in that statement!). Join me in my free webinar as we begin to explore the topic of seeking the right answer through external validation vs. understanding ourselves and trusting that the sounds we make are valid, amazing, and uniquely communicative of our authentic selves.

Description:
[Slide 1: What happens when…from the student archives (unedited stories)

Slide 2: This feedback made me stop and think about how I communicate about what I do and *why* I do it:

Slide 3: “I know part of Dr. Rachel’s teaching style is to let the students explore on their own, but a lot of that made me feel unstable and unable to trust my musical instincts out of fear for making the wrong choice.” —Anonymous input

Slide 4: How can I help students trust themselves?

Slide 5: How can I help students sit with the discomfort of not knowing what to do?

Slide 6: How can I help students find the joy in exploration rather than fear of “making the wrong choice?”

Slide 7: That’s where my free webinar begins: Getting Singing Right in all the Wrong Ways Registration link in the comments.
