Scots family, the lingering impacts of this week's winter storm, and the possible addition of more bad weather overnight, means that road conditions on campus continue to be tricky and will likely remain so. As a result, the College's online class and remote work model will remain in effect for Friday, Jan. 19. Students, please check your email accounts for additional instructions from faculty members. Be safe and stay warm, Scots!

Happy dedication day to Lloyd Hall! Named in honor of the College's sixth president, Dr. Ralph W. Lloyd, and his family, the original Lloyd Hall was built in 1959 and demolished in 2003. It was rededicated on this date in 2003 and is the mirror to Gibson Hall.
Happy dedication day to Beeson Village! Beeson Village is comprised of three halls: Memorial, Beeson and Chilhowee. It was dedicated on this date in 1997.
Dr. Coker at Founder's Day Showcase on Friday October 20th
Happy dedication day to Gibson Hall! Gibson Hall was named for Dr. Gerald W. Gibson, who served as Maryville College’s 10th president from 1993 to 2010, and his wife Rachel Plummer Gibson. It was dedicated on this date in 2008.
This past Saturday, CCE hosted the annual Hammering for Habitat event on campus. Students and staff worked with the volunteer leaders from Habitat for Humanity to make wooden shed frames to be used at their future builds.
Happy dedication day to Thaw Hall! Home to Disability Resources & Accessibility, Thaw Hall was named for William Thaw, whose support for MC — even though he never attended — was a godsend in the years following the Civil War. Today, Thaw Hall stands as a grand old sentinel overlooking the MC grounds, and many Scots memories continue to be made there. It was dedicated on this date in 1922.
Enjoy Fall Break, Scots! See you on Monday!
“Where flowers bloom so does hope”- Lady Bird Johnson
We are filled with hope and support when for each other when thinking about the space shared by students, faculty and staff today during the kickoff of the Yellow Tulip Project as the Hope Garden planting took off around the CCM, Crawford and Thaw.
We can not wait to see the blooms from the gardens come spring time 🌷
Please join us in chapel today at 1:15 p.m. and again for Bite-Sized (snacks and discussion) at 3:15 p.m. as we welcome Angie Wuysang, an ordained minister of GMIM (Gereja Masehi Injili di Minahasa), the Christian Evangelical Church in Minahasa. She is Faculty of Theology at Universitas Kristen Indonesia Tomohon, and a PhD student at the Indonesian Consortium for Religious Studies (ICRS).
Angie is passionate in building interreligious dialogue for world peace and the integrity of all God’s creatures. Engaging these real issues, Angie is an excellent ambassador not only of the Christian community in Indonesia, but also the interreligious communities. She specializes in women’s issues, environmental issues and interfaith dialogue. Her sustained concern for environmental/food ethics is the subject of her dissertation research.
Whatever you believe, wherever you're from, whomever you love, you are welcome!
