St. Clair TEC Law and Public Safety students recently participated in a hands-on vehicle extrication training session in collaboration with the Marysville Public Safety Department.

During this scenario-based experience, students observed and assisted with key emergency response procedures, including vehicle stabilization, scene safety, and patient access. Under the guidance of trained professionals, they learned to identify hazards, use personal protective equipment, and understand communication protocols within an emergency response team.

Students were also introduced to specialized rescue equipment, using hydraulic cutters and spreaders, and gained insight into how first responders safely remove individuals from damaged vehicles. The training reinforced classroom learning while building teamwork, situational awareness, and critical thinking skills.

Six students from St. Clair County TEC's Health Careers Program recently represented our community at the 2026 HOSA State Leadership Conference in Traverse City. Students competed in events in physical therapy, clinical specialty, epidemiology, and persuasive writing and speaking, gaining hands-on experience and strengthening skills. Congratulations!

🤩Education Students Compete in FCCLA, Lansing, February 25 & 26

Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a Career and Technical Student Organization that functions as an integral part of the Family and Consumer Sciences education curriculum and operates within the school system. Since 1945, FCCLA members have been making a difference in families, careers, and communities by addressing important personal, work, and societal issues. Through participation in competitive events, community service, student leadership, and attendance at leadership conferences, members develop real-world skills, explore Career Pathways, and become college- and career-ready.
