🎤🔥 FREESTYLE FRIDAY: FROM SURVIVAL TO SUCCESS 🔥🎤

Every time I pick up a microphone and start freestyling, I’m not just rapping… I’m taking a trip back through my life. 🎶🧠

When I was 17 years old, I moved out on my own. Yep… SEVENTEEN! 😂 I got an apartment with one of my high school friends, and I was so young I wasn’t even allowed to be on the lease until I turned 18. I was out there trying to figure life out before I really even understood what life was.

And I don’t like admitting this part, but it’s part of my story…

I used to sell drugs. 💯

Working a regular job just wasn’t paying the bills, so I hustled. I did things back then that I’m not proud of. I had guns. I made decisions I wish I could go back and change. I got myself involved in things that could have ended very differently.

But here’s the thing about the past…

You can’t rewrite it. You can only learn from it.

I’m not glorifying the drug game, the guns, the fast life, or any of the stupid decisions I made. If anything, I’m grateful I survived it. 🙏🏾

Because looking back now, I honestly don’t know how I made it to 48 years old.

The devil was definitely trying to take me out. 😈💀

I could have ended up dead.

I could have ended up in prison for the rest of my life.

But somehow… I’m still here. 🙏🏾

And those lessons stuck with me.

I even used to do some of the drugs I sold—which, yeah… I know the saying:

“Never get high on your own supply.” 😂

Well… unfortunately, I did. I figured if I was selling it, I needed to make sure it was good. 🤦🏾‍♂️

Thankfully, I never became heavily addicted to those drugs—weed was a different story. I smoked ma*****na for decades.

But even back then, one thing I knew how to do was talk. 😂

I could spit a LOT of game.

I was a salesman.

And honestly, I loved selling things. I loved the attention. I loved having people around me. I loved the feeling of being somebody people wanted to be around.

But I eventually learned that a lot of those “friends” weren’t really friends.

Some were just there for what I had.

And yeah… the women came around too. 😂

Game recognize game. 😉

But the older I get, the more I realize that attention isn’t the same thing as love.

Back then, I used to get high and rap.

I would rap for my friends.

I would rap for the addicts.

I would rap for anybody who would listen. 🎤🔥

And somehow, all these years later, I’m still doing it.

The difference?

Now I need glasses just to read the damn raps I wrote down. 🤓😂

BUT I’M STILL HERE.

And that means something to me.

When I was young, I felt like I was a killer. I felt like I had something to prove.

Nowadays?

I just want to chill the hell out. 😂✌🏾

When I was young, I felt like Magilla Gorilla. 🦍🤣

And there’s a reason for that.

I was adopted, and for a long time I carried this feeling that my adopted parents always wanted to give me back to the person I came from.

I’ll never forget my adopted mother once saying:

“Maybe we should give you back to your mother.”

Those words hurt me for many, many years.

When you’re young, you don’t always understand how deeply words can cut.

But when you get older, you start looking back at your life differently.

All those experiences.

All those mistakes.

All those wounds.

All those victories.

They start telling a different story.

And today, I tell myself something completely different:

👑 I AM A KING.

Not because I’m rich.

Not because I’m famous.

Not because I have thousands of people following me.

But because I survived everything that tried to convince me I wasn’t worthy of being here.

And I still have dreams.

I still want to hear one of my songs on the radio someday. 📻🎶

I still want to freestyle.

I still want to create.

I still want to laugh.

I still want to ride.

I still want to enjoy this crazy thing called life.

And most importantly…

I just want to be happy.

Rapping has always made me happy.

So I’m going to keep doing it.

🎤 Freestyle Friday lives on!

And I look up at the sky and say:

Alhamdulillah. 🙏🏾☝🏾

“Praise be to God.”

“All praise is due to Allah.”

I hope I’m being heard.

Because I’ve been through some s**t.

I’ve made mistakes.

I’ve done things I wish I could take back.

But I’m still standing.

48 years old and still climbing. 🧗🏾‍♂️🔥

I used to think success meant money.

Some people think success means fame.

Some think it means having a big house, nice cars, or thousands of fans.

But the older I get, the more I realize…

Success is different for everybody.

For me?

Success is being loved by the people who are actually part of my life. ❤️

Because when you die, you can’t take your money with you.

You can’t take your cars.

You can’t take your jewelry.

You can’t take your followers.

You can’t take your fame.

But when that moment comes—and trust me, eventually it comes for all of us—you’re going to want the people who truly love you standing beside you.

THAT is wealth.

THAT is success.

THAT is the life I want. ❤️👑

So yeah…

This freestyle might just sound like an old dude having fun with a microphone. 😂🎤

But behind these bars is a whole lifetime.

A kid who moved out at 17.

A young man who made some dangerous choices.

A hustler.

A salesman.

A rapper.

A son.

A father.

A grandfather.

A husband.

A survivor.

And now…

Just a man trying to enjoy the life he almost didn’t get to live.

🙏🏾 Alhamdulillah.

I’m grateful I made it this far.

I’m grateful I’m still dreaming.

I’m grateful I’m still rapping.

And I’m grateful I’m still here.

The past made me who I am.
The future is mine to create.

🚀 Positive attitude leads to positive altitude.

So I’m still shooting for the top. 🎯⬆️

I made my mistakes. I learned my lessons. I survived the storm. Now I just want to enjoy the sunshine. ☀️

The ancient masters didn't invent Kung Fu, they borrowed it from nature.

Long before there were dojos, warriors watched how animals fought — not with anger, but with perfect efficiency. The praying mantis was one of the greatest teachers: patient, still, then explosive. It doesn't wrestle. It waits, it traps, it strikes with surgical precision.

This is the heart of Shaolin. To learn the mantis is not to copy an insect, it's to absorb its spirit — to be calm on the outside and lightning on the inside. True mastery is when you stop fighting like a man and start moving like nature itself.
