October is Walk & Roll to School Month! Even our littlest learners can join the fun—take a family walk, ride bikes together, or add a little extra movement to your morning. Every step is a great way to move, connect, and start the day energized!

What does a feeling look like? In Mr. Rigo’s music class at Linda Preschool this week, we explored feelings through music and drawing. They listened, created, and shared their artwork—practicing a new way to express what’s inside.

Tomorrow is Johnny Appleseed Day! At MJUSD Child Development Center, we’re celebrating with a simple invitation: share an apple, read a story, or ask your child what they notice about its color, smell, and crunch. Little moments of discovery help young children learn and grow!

Families learned about our preschool’s mission and vision, inclusive early education, co-teaching, child development assessments, intentional classroom design, and understanding children’s behavior. Thank you to everyone who participated and we will see you at our next meeting on Friday, October 16!

Last week at Yuba Feather Preschool, students enjoyed special visits during Community Helpers Week! Deputy Kai Jahsen shared about his job, showed the tools he uses, answered questions, and read with the children. Mr. Rigo also led a fun drumming activity! These hands-on experiences support children’s language, listening, social-emotional, and motor development while helping them learn about their community.
