We had our Christmas party this morning. It was so easy going!! We had fun! We started with music and drumming. Next, we got to tell Santa all our wants! After Santa left we made our way to the table. We decorated “Christmas trees” (sugar cones and sprinkles) and then made Gingerbread sticker houses. After lunch, we layed down and read The gingerbread man shadow book. The shadow book was super cool to see the pictures on the wall.

The last 2 days were snow days. Our activities just adjust to a little different curriculum. The big kids buddy up and “teach” the preschoolers. We built snowmen, forts, puppet shows, and made cookies. Olive has a better understanding of our difficulties when reading books, as well.😂

Last month, our curriculum covered bees and butterflies. Yesterday, during outdoor play, we encountered a large yellow butterfly. The highlight of the visit was the children recalling that it was a Swallowtail butterfly. This morning, we observed bees pollinating our pumpkin flowers. I find my career highly rewarding, and moments like these remind me of its significance, such as when one of our kiddos exclaimed, 'That's a Swallowtail!'

We had a busy week! Our desert theme started with learning how to dress and lasso. The kids had fun painting their cowboy hats with a lasso and used them on "burros" and "horses" all Friday. The weather was all over the place this week, with 70s, 20s, sun, rain, and snow.
