Manipulatives are toys and materials that children can move, sort, stack, connect, and explore. While children see them as fun, they are actually building a wide range of important skills
As toddlers work with manipulatives, they strengthen hand muscles, practice coordination, solve problems, and begin exploring early math concepts like size, shape, matching, and spatial relationships
At WOW, we provide plenty of opportunities for hands-on learning because young children learn best by actively engaging with materials rather than simply watching or listening

Simple sensory activities, like exploring floating fish in water, help babies learn about the world through sight, touch, movement, and observation
As infants reach, splash, watch objects move, and react to what they discover, they are building important brain connections. These experiences support cognitive development, attention, coordination, and early problem-solving skills
At WOW, we believe learning begins long before children can talk. By providing safe, engaging sensory experiences, we help infants explore, discover, and make sense of the world around them

Painting gives toddlers opportunities to strengthen the muscles they will eventually use for writing, drawing, cutting, and many other everyday tasks. Every brush stroke helps build coordination and control
At WOW, we use the HighScope approach, which means children are encouraged to make choices, explore materials, and create freely. Rather than focusing on a perfect finished product, we focus on the learning that happens during the process
Toddlers are naturally curious. Painting allows them to experiment with colors, movement, and cause and effect while expressing their own ideas

In this activity, toddlers are washing toy animals in a sensory bin. While it may seem simple, children are practicing important life skills while they play
HighScope emphasizes active learning, which means children learn best when they can touch, explore, and do things for themselves. Activities like this help children build independence, develop hand-eye coordination, and begin understanding everyday self-care routines
Toddlers love to imitate the world around them. Whether they are washing animals, pretending to cook, or caring for a baby doll, they are making sense of the routines they see every day

When choosing child care, families often ask about ratios, schedules, and curriculum. One thing that can be easy to overlook is the education and training of the people working directly with children every day.

At World of Wonders, we are committed to building a team of knowledgeable, skilled early childhood professionals. Our staff includes educators with college degrees, professional credentials, and team members who are currently pursuing additional degrees and certifications.

Learning does not stop once someone is hired. Every member of our team completes at least 38–48 hours of professional development each year, in addition to required health, safety, and licensing training. This ongoing education helps our staff stay current on child development, teaching practices, behavior support, health and safety, and best practices in early childhood education.

The following slides highlight the educational backgrounds and professional growth of the team that cares for your children each day.

Four years with Haley, and honestly, we are all better for it

She is the kindest person in the building, the one who somehow manages to take care of everyone at once, staff, families, and especially the kids. If something needs fixed, improved, or just handled with care, Haley is already on it

We are pretty sure she has quietly made about a thousand things better around here without ever asking for credit

Four years of hard work, heart, and making WOW a better place every single day

We are so lucky to have you, Haley

Three years of Kelsey, and we are still trying to figure out how she knows you need help before you do

She is the one who shows up at exactly the right moment, keeps everything running smoothly, and somehow stays completely on top of it all

An amazing teacher, a dependable teammate, and just an overall steady presence in the building

Also, we are convinced there are at least two of her, because no one should be able to do that much

Three years down, and WOW would not be the same without you

Writing does not start with letters on a page

It starts much earlier than that

At WOW, our early writing program begins from the very first days children are with us. Before children are expected to write, they are building the skills they need to get there

Small motor strength
Control and coordination
Comfort with tools like crayons, markers, and paint

In our Early Preschool classroom, you will see children practicing these skills every day in ways that feel natural and engaging

Through the HighScope approach, we focus on building a strong foundation first. By the time children are ready for more formal writing, they already have the confidence and ability to do it
