Building bonds and connections. Loving and respecting our animals is our utmost priority. We provide horse lessons to all ages and farm fresh eggs.

This summer we plan to have a large garden for produce and piglets! We're O Kaye Ranch is home to many unique needs horses. Our goal is to provide sanctuary and a purpose to our horses. Through lessons both on the ground and undersaddle, our horses teach healing, confidence and overcoming challenges. We are currently in a season of growth and look forward the expanding our program.

The trail course changed today. I enjoy changing our course frequently. It gives both horse and rider some new challenges.

We are excited to start this program! The idea behind this program is to learn everything there is to know when owning a horse. This is a great opportunity for pre teens and teens wanting to learn more about the responsibility of horse ownership. It will also be a great program for adults as well. Our goal is to have monthly extra educational experiences as this program grows. This will be a monthly commitment and could continue throughout the year.

Drama has been enjoying his new volunteers. They have been learning to help with his rehab. He also teaches them how to groom the right spots and stands patiently as they figure out haltering. Today, Drama's volunteer learned his routine with his red light boots, magnetic cuff and scraping tool. After he got some time in the back on track sheet and we wrapped his feet with some magic cushion. Drama is slow making progress in his rehab. His future is still uncertain but for now, he's a lot more comfortable.

One of our key "employees" on our farm is barn cats. Our goal is around 7 barn cats to help prevent rodent issues. Honestly with the strays that make their way down our driveway is currently around 13 cats that feed from our nightly feed station in the hay loft. As the weather gets cooler, that number will no doubt increase. This will be the most cats I've counted going into winter, we're feeding. As you can imagine, they go through a lot of food. We're grateful to provide rest and refuge to all the cats on our property.

Our lessons are individual based that way we can flex our lesson plans. With the change of schedules and heading to school again, some of our students could use a little bit different plan for the week. Today's student had a student let exploration day. We focused on calm energies, communication and forming connections. Our farm cats decided they were willing to help. They played with us and then we brought out some soft food.. we had 4 cats eating out of our hands. This was an amazing opportunity to teach how our actions had consequences. The cats felt comfortable when we were calm but became spooked when we were a bit too excited. It was a really fun and unexpected opportunity today with this student.

We are working on providing more opportunities like this for kids of all learning abilities. Feel free to reach out if this might be of interest!
