This past weekend we took a small team of 6 youth and 3 adults to Grappling Industries for another day of competition.

One of the things we enjoy about Grappling Industries is that their round-robin format gives athletes the opportunity to get a larger number of matches throughout the day. More mat time means more opportunities to test techniques, make adjustments, and continue developing under live competition.

Our team took full advantage of those opportunities.

Team Results

πŸ₯‡ 6 Gold
πŸ₯ˆ 2 Silver
πŸ₯‰ 2 Bronze

πŸ† 4th Place Youth Team

With only six youth competitors, earning a 4th Place team finish is something everyone should be proud of. Every match mattered, and our athletes stepped up when it counted.

As always, thank you to our coaches, parents, and families for everything you do behind the scenes. Whether you're in the corner coaching, helping athletes prepare, or cheering from the sidelines, your support is what makes weekends like this possible.

Proud of the effort and the way this group continues to represent the team the right way.

We are strong because we are together, and together we will conquer the world.

This past weekend we competed at Revolution 58, bringing 26 competitors to the largest Jiu Jitsu tournament in the Pacific Northwest. Across the two-day event, our team battled through a field of 2,320 competitors and put together another strong performance.

Events of this size create deep brackets and tough matches from start to finish. Every round presents a new challenge, and success comes from staying composed, adapting, and continuing to solve problems as the day unfolds.

That's exactly what our team did.

Team Results
πŸ₯‡ 11 Gold
πŸ₯ˆ 8 Silver
πŸ₯‰ 15 Bronze

But what stood out most this weekend wasn't the medal count. It was the people behind it.

Our coaches spent both Saturday and Sunday in the corner, helping athletes prepare, make adjustments, and perform at their best. Our parents and families spent the weekend making sure everyone got where they needed to be, stayed ready to compete, and had the support they needed throughout the tournament.

I say it all the time. You can't get good at this sport by yourself!

Most people assume I'm talking just about training partners, and they certainly do play a huge role. But it goes much deeper than that. It takes training partners who consistently show up to help you improve. It takes coaches who invest their time and knowledge into your development. And it takes families who are there every step of the way, creating the environment that allows athletes to grow.

None of us get here alone. That's what this team is built on.

We’re proud of everyone who stepped on the mats, stood in the corner, or cheered from the sidelines. Weekends like this are a great reminder that Songer Combat Sports is more than a gym. We're a team. We're a family.

We are strong because we are together, and together we will conquer the world.

LET'S GO!!!

This past weekend we competed at another Proving Grounds tournament and put together a strong showing across the board.

Proving Grounds' Submission Only rule set creates a very different environment than most tournaments. With no points to worry about, the focus shifts entirely to hunting submissions. The result is an aggressive style of grappling that rewards constant pressure, constant attack, and a willingness to pursue the finish.

With only a small crew of 9 competitors, we showed up ready to work and made the most of every opportunity.

Team Results

πŸ₯‡ 7 Gold
πŸ₯ˆ 6 Silver
πŸ₯‰ 5 Bronze

πŸ† 3rd Place Youth Team

As always, thank you to our coaches and parents who helped make the day possible. From cornering matches and managing brackets to keeping athletes prepared throughout the day, their support plays a huge role in our success.

Proud of the effort and the way this group continues to represent the team the right way.

We are strong because we are together, and together we will conquer the world.

Yesterday we competed at AVA, putting together a strong performance across the board.

Smaller tournaments bring a different kind of challenge. With limited brackets, competitors often get moved up in weight, age, or skill divisions just to get matches. This time around, several of our athletes were bumped up multiple divisions.

That creates tough matchups and forces athletes to adapt quickly against bigger, older, or more experienced opponents.

But despite that, the team showed up ready to work and embraced those challenges all day.

Team Results
πŸ₯‡ 10 Gold
πŸ₯ˆ 7 Silver
πŸ₯‰ 1 Bronze

πŸ† 1st Place Youth Team
πŸ† 1st Place Overall Team

We're all really proud of the effort and the way this team continues to step into difficult situations and compete the right way.
