HOLIDAY FOOD BOX DISTRIBUTION

Thank you so much to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan for making these boxes available to Mid City, to Meridian of Michigan for sponsoring the full cost, to the YMCA of the Blue Water Area for providing a great site for distribution, and to Advia Credit Union for bringing volunteers to help!

Distribution begins at 10AM at the 3rd Street entrance to the YMCA. You do not need to arrive in a car. One box per family while supplies last. Contents are subject to change due to availability but a list is available below of what will likely be in each box:

2 - Tomato Sauce
1 - Green Beans
2 - Corn
1 - Rice
1 - Applesauce
1 - Dried Plums
1 - 1% Milk
1 - Chili
1 - Beef Stew
2 - Whole Chickens

An updated Mobile Food Pantry list has been released with an additional event on Monday at the YMCA of the Blue Water Area in Port Huron from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. Please help spread the word!

🛒 MICHIGAN SNAP HALTED INDEFINITELY BEGINNING NOVEMBER 1, 2025 🚫

Due to the federal shutdown the USDA has directed the MDHHS to Hold food assistance to Michigan recipients indefinitely.

So beginning in November SNAP recipients will not be able to use their cards to receive food assistance.

Some quick facts:

13% of Michigan residents receive SNAP benefits

That's roughly 1.4 millon people.
