🌟 Service with a Smile at MEHS! 🌟

Today, our students reminded us that making a difference does not always require a huge stage—sometimes it begins with a simple bag, an encouraging note, a caring heart, and the willingness to serve.

MEHS students came together as one team to assemble thoughtful bags for our staff and educators. They collaborated, designed uplifting notes, encouraged the people who work so hard every day, and then went the extra mile by personally delivering each bag.

The smiles on our teachers’ faces were absolutely priceless. In that moment, our students did more than deliver bags—they delivered appreciation, joy, encouragement, and love.

This is how culture changes. This is how new standards are set. When students understand the power of teamwork, service, and kindness, they become leaders who make every space better than they found it.

We are so proud of our MEHS students for choosing to serve with purpose and showing that a small act of kindness can leave a lasting impact. 💙🧡

**THIS is what learning looks like.** 🔥💙

Sitting. Discussing. Collaborating. Suggesting. Listening. Dreaming.

No one student has all the answers—and that’s exactly the point.

These MEHS EAST students are learning how powerful it is to bring different ideas, talents, and perspectives to the same table. They’re challenging one another, building on each other’s thoughts, and already **rejoicing over an outcome they haven’t even reached yet.**

Why? Because they can see the vision. They believe in the mission. And most importantly, **they know they’re building it TOGETHER.** 🤝

This is bigger than a team builder .

This is communication.
This is leadership.
This is problem-solving.
This is belonging.
**This is MEHS EAST.**

There’s something special happening when students stop asking, *“What do you want me to do?”* and start asking each other, **“What can WE make happen?”**

Sometimes the most powerful thing we can give a student isn’t an answer.

It’s **access**.

Access to the technology. Access to the tools. Access to the opportunity. And, maybe most importantly, access to our trust.

Then we step back and say, **“Show me what you can do.”**

That can be hard. Because giving students ownership means accepting that they may do things differently than we would. They may struggle. They may fail. They may surprise us.

And sometimes… they absolutely **blow us away.** ❤️

There is something incredibly special about watching a student realize, *“They trust me with this.”* You see their posture change. Their confidence grow. Their ideas become bigger. Suddenly, they aren’t completing an assignment for a teacher—they’re building something that belongs to **them**.

That’s where growth happens.

Give them the access.
Give them the opportunity.
Give them the responsibility.
And then give them enough room to discover just how capable they really are.

Because sometimes the student we’re trying so hard to teach is simply waiting for someone to believe in them enough to **hand them the keys.** 🔑💙

Had an amazing week at the American Community Gardening Association Conference! 🌱

So many valuable resources, fresh ideas, and meaningful connections. One thing I learned is that gardening is about so much more than growing food—it cultivates education, wellness, community engagement, environmental stewardship, and opportunities for lifelong learning.

Excited to bring this knowledge back and continue growing opportunities for our students and community! 🌿💚

💻🎨 MESD 6th graders are stepping into the world of digital design as they learn Adobe InDesign!

Students are gaining hands-on experience with the same software used by professionals to create magazines, brochures, flyers, books, and advertisements. Learning these skills now opens the door to future careers such as:

✨ Graphic Designer
✨ Magazine or Book Publisher
✨ Marketing Specialist
✨ Content Creator
✨ Media Designer
✨ Advertising Designer

We are proud to expose our students to real-world technology and career-ready skills at an early age. Today’s classroom lessons could become tomorrow’s careers! 💙💛

🎉 BIG things are happening with MEHS EAST! 🎉

Four of our incredible MEHS EAST students recently attended and presented at the 2026 Southern Regional Alliance for Community Schools Convening hosted by the NEA Foundation — and they absolutely represented Marvell-Elaine with excellence! 👏🏽🔥

Carla Mata, Russell Rose, KiYonna Jones, Isaiyiah Coleman..you were amazing!!!!

These students didn’t just sit in sessions… they stepped up and shared their voices, ideas, and leadership with educators and community leaders from across the region. Their confidence, professionalism, and passion for making a difference showed exactly what EAST is all about! 💡🌍

From innovation to collaboration, our students continue proving that young leaders from small communities can make a BIG impact. We are beyond proud of the way they carried themselves and represented MEHS, MESD, and the Marvell community. ❤️🖤

The future is bright, and our students are SHOWING OUT! ✨

Marvell-Elaine 6th grade students were recently introduced to the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, and their creativity immediately came to life. Their assignment was to design 3 graduation posters that would later be printed using the Epson plotter through MEHS EAST. 🎓✨

What touched my heart the most was seeing how little editing the MEHS EAST students had to do. The 6th graders truly stepped up, took ownership, and created designs they could be proud of.

Now, these students were able to walk into graduation and see something THEY created displayed for everyone to see. That feeling of accomplishment, pride, and purpose is something they will never forget. 💙

Moments like this remind me why exposure, opportunity, and creativity matter. Sometimes all students need is a chance to create something meaningful and someone to believe they can do it.

This was bigger than posters. This was confidence being built right before our eyes. 🥹
