Our PTA classes have been celebrating National Fall Prevention Awareness Week this week. Falls are NOT a normal part of aging and can be prevented.
Older adults should stay active, schedule health screenings, and make your home safer.
Caregivers and family members should help identify risks and support healthy lifestyle choices.
Healthcare professionals should encourage fall risk assessments and prevention strategies.
Take the Fall Prevention Challenge:
Walk or exercise 30 minutes today.
Schedule an eye exam.
Remove one tripping hazard from your home.
Review medications with your provider.
Share a fall prevention tip with a friend.
Stay strong. Stay steady. Stay independent.
