PGSMST juniors Majelene Pitogo and Colten Lewis were featured alongside P&HCC president, Dr. Greg Hodges, for an exciting announcement: P&HCC is officially a Bee Campus!

PGSMST students collaborated with P&HCC "Bee the Change" project that started back in August, leading to a campus Earth Day event as well as the installation of bee hotels on campus. P&HCC is one of the 228 colleges & universities nationwide to join the Bee Campus USA movement.

From careful measurements to the perfect faint pink color closest to equivalence point, students put their chemistry skills to the test during the acid-base titration and sodium hydroxide standardization labs! Using real-world lab techniques, teamwork, and precision, they calculated unknown concentrations while mastering the art of titration like true chemists.

Students reviewed the Trigonometry Unit by creating a 2D or 3D model of the unit circle that reflected aspects of their culture or heritage. Students also wrote a reflection explaining the significance of the model and how it relates to their culture.

Precalculus students wrapped up the year with a Rational Functions Matching activity. Students worked together to match each rational function with its asymptotes, intercepts, and graph while reviewing key concepts in a collaborative review activity.

This week in PreCalculus, students investigated the ambiguous case of the Law of Sines using uncooked spaghetti noodles. Students were given a fixed angle and one side, along with restrictions on the side opposite the angle. Their challenge was to determine whether they could build one triangle, two triangles, or no triangle.
