🌟🎶🌟 The All-Stars are warming up! We are so excited for our Spring All-Star Music Showcase this Thursday May 11, 2023 at 6pm in the ESI gym! Please know seating is limited and we expect a fantastic turn out!

🚨As a friendly reminder to all our music students and their grown-ups:

⭐️ We will have a full ensemble (Band, Choir, and Percussion Ensembles) run-through rehearsal after school, Wednesday May 10, from 3:30 to 5:00!

⭐️ Arrival time for students the day of the concert is by 5:30. Please be sure to be wearing concert attire.

We can’t wait to share everything we have learned this year with you! ♥️

🌟🎶🌟 hey there All-Stars! We have about 3 weeks till our spring concert! We can’t believe how close we are to wrapping up our school year. We’d like to introduce one of our 5th grade Flautists, KeKe C! Mr. Blom and Mrs. Kozak Chose KeKe this week because we’ve watched KeKe grow into a very determined musician and artist over this school year.

🌟what is your favorite subject in school?
“Math because I’m quick to figure it out. It’s a challenge but I’m good at it.”

🌟what is your favorite song right now?
“Cupid by FIFTY FIFTY has been playing a lot lately for me.”

🌟if you planned a concert for the whole school what kind of concert would it be?
“I would have a casual jazz concert. I’m starting to like jazz more!”

🌟what do you think is one thing we can all do to make the world better?
“Hmm… there’s lots but I would say donate more to people in need, like homeless people. They need help too.”

🌟what is your favorite thing about yourself?
“I give everything 100% and I’m not scared to try things and I do my best to be nice to people.”

🌟what is your favorite thing about being in the All-Star Band?
“I love learning to play and getting lessons from Mr. Blom at school. I have made lots of good friends and anyone is allowed to join band if they want.”

KeKe, we completely agree that you do give everything 100%! Your kindness and patience are priceless. We are so proud of all your amazing accomplishments! Keep shining, girl! ♥️

We are so excited to end our year strong and play some amazing tunes we know you’ll recognize! We couldn’t be more proud of how much the All-Stars have learned and how hard they have worked.

🌟🎶🌟 We have some exciting news!! Our biggest fans and supporters at the Shepherdstown Rotary are hosting the 2nd annual Shepherdstown Beer and Food Fest 2023 on June 3!!! 🏝️🌸☀️

Tickets for this 21+ shindig include food, desserts, wine, cider, beer, non-alcoholic drink options, many games, and dancing! As always, the Rotary’s hope is to foster a sense of community and giving to programs in our neighborhoods that need support!

All the net proceeds raised at this annual fundraiser benefit youth programs in our community, including the 🌟Eagle School Intermediate All-Star Music programs and The Jaxon Martin Memorial Award Fund at ESI!🌟

🌟🎶🌟 Hey there All-Stars! We hope everyone is enjoying their spring break! 🌷🌷 Our spotlight for our time off is Evan D! Evan plays trumpet and is in 4th grade! Mr. Blom and Mrs. Kozak chose Evan this week because he is so persistent. He doesn’t give up easily and always works hard towards his goals no matter what!

🌟who is your favorite musician?
“Hmm.. I’ve been listening to Eminem a lot lately” *then proceeds to rap while Mrs. Kozak beatboxes*

🌟what is your favorite school lunch?
“Hamburger with crinkle fries always hits the spot!”

🌟what do you want to be when you grow up?
“I want to be an Air Force Fighter pilot!”

🌟what is your favorite thing about yourself?
“Why would you ask me that?! ☺️ umm. Lots of people say I have nice hair and I really do always try to do my best.”

🌟what is your favorite thing about being part of the All-Star Band?
“Playing an instrument, learning songs to play, and it’s something I want to keep doing. I want to play football AND be in band! That’s really cool.”

🌟🎶🌟 We want to take a moment this evening to give a standing ovation to two of our All-Stars, Eli and Kinlee! Both of these students are 5th graders in Ms. Cobaugh’s class that volunteered their time to visit our students in Ms. LeGrand’s classroom and play them some tunes!

We are so PROUD of this example of S.H.I.N.E! These students are setting the standard of our school motto by being Safe, Helpful, Inclusive, Nice, and Eager! ♥️ great work All-Stars! Keep going! 🤩

🌟🎶🌟 Happy April All-Stars! 🌷Our spring concert is quickly approaching (more details soon!)🌷We want to introduce one of our 5th grade Clarinetists, Kendall C.! Mr. Blom and Mrs. Kozak picked her this week because we are so impressed with how thoughtful and helpful she is!
Kendall’s homeroom teacher, Mr. Graham, says “Kendall is smart and funny, she has the ability to go far in life! You can see the passion in her. It can be seen in music and playing the clarinet. I couldn’t be more proud to have someone like her in my class!”

🌟 What is your favorite subject?
“Music, because it’s fun, unlike my boring classes, and helps me with what I am learning in band!”

🌟 If you were to plan a concert what kind of concert would you plan and who would you invite?
“An outside rock concert for the WHOLE WORLD, so we can rock out and headbang together!”

🌟What is something we can all do to make the world a better place?
“Oh… where do I start… just care a little more about people!!! AND… Recycle more.”

🌟what is your favorite thing about being part of the All-Star Band?
“The other kids in band. I’ve made so many friends, people I didn’t know I’d be friends with. I like getting to see Mr. Blom and Mrs. Kozak more too… they have good advice and if I need a break I can go to the band room. ☺️”

We are so proud of you, Kendall. You are an excellent reminder of why music is so important! It always brings people together. Thank you for always going above and beyond! ♥️ 🫶🏻

🌟🎶🌟 We had a fantastic week in the band room! Our students put in so much hard work! One of those amazing all-stars is our darling Kinlee M! Kinlee is one of our 5th grade Alto Saxophonists! Mr. Blom and Mrs. Kozak picked her this week because she works so hard to be a good example and is so proud to be an All-Star! 🥰

“Art because I love how creative we get to be. I love making friendship bracelets for my friends.”

🌟 If you were going to plan a concert at ESI, what type of music would you have?
“Our All-Star Band! We sound so good, we’re so proud to be in band, and we want to share our music with everyone!”

“A teacher just like Mrs. Kozak.”

“🥰🥰 *giggle* I am beautiful!”

“Honestly… I get to be with Mrs. Kozak. She is always here for me. She and Mr. Blom always help me.”

🌟🎶🌟Happy Friday All-Star Fam! We are super excited to introduce one of our awesome 4th grade trumpet players, Claude D! Mrs. Kozak picked Claude this week because she is so proud of how much he has grown as a person and student so far this year!

🌟what is your favorite subject in school?
“I really like reading. I read a lot at home too so it’s a subject I enjoy.”

🌟what is your favorite school lunch?
“Aw! Friday… you can’t go wrong with pizza day!”

🌟if you could play any instrument perfectly which would you play?
“The marimba. I discovered it while watching some YouTube videos…and a video of marimba music popped up. The sound is so cool!”

🌟what is one thing we can all do to make the world better?
“Pick up trash because it’s so easy and helpful.”

🌟What is your favorite thing about yourself?
“Wow. No one’s ever asked me that. How smart I am. I get good grades and I’m very proud of that. This nine weeks was a little tougher though.”

🌟what is your favorite thing about being part of the All-Star Band?
“I get to play music I’ve never played before. I have met new kids I wouldn’t meet because they are in different grades… like my friends Aiden and Cedric in Band. I have friends in all grades and that’s cool!” 🥰

Claude, we couldn’t be more proud of all the positive things you do and say to make our school better. You’re a good friend and a wonderful example of a shining All-Star! ♥️

🌟🎶🌟The All-Star music students walked in to a super exciting surprise this morning! 🥰

After almost a year of fundraising, many amazing organizational and individual donations, Mr. Blom, Mrs. Kozak, Mr. Rose, Mr. Kursey, and Ms. Woofter unloaded and unpacked 100 brand new Wenger Student chairs, yesterday.

Our kids are so incredibly proud! They are so grateful for their new professional seating. We couldn’t have accomplished this for them without your support. It was amazing as their educators, to watch them sit in their new chairs and sit a little taller. Thank you! Next up on our to-do list: new stands! As always thank you for your support of the All-Stars. They deserve every single bit. ♥️
