Founded in 1934, the Augusta SDA School, now known as Adventist Christian School, is one of the oldest nonprofit parochial schools in the CSRA area. Serving students in grades PK4-10, the school is governed by a board of members from the sponsoring Augusta First Seventh-day Adventist Church. The Adventist Christian School is operated by the Augusta First Seventh-Day Adventist Church under the auspices of the Georgia-Cumberland Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists, the Southern Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, and the North American Division of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Seventh-Day Adventist schools are accredited by the Accrediting Association of Seventh-Day Adventist Schools, Colleges, and Universities, which is a member of the National Council for Private School Accreditation, an organization approved by the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service to enroll nonimmigrant students. In Georgia, SDA school accreditation is additionally approved by the Georgia Private School Accreditation Council, which was accepted by the State Board of Education on August 13, 1998 as an accreditation agency. The Adventist Christian School is the oldest nonprofit parochial school in the CSRA area serving students in pre-kindergarten4 thru 8th grade.
