Dunbar Visits Martinez

Dunbar Visits Martinez We will host 22 high school students to Martinez from our sister city of Dunbar, Scotland June 18-22, 2020. WOULD YOU LIKE TO HOST? PLEASE MESSAGE ME.

John Muir was born in Dunbar, Scotland, and made his adult home in Martinez, so twenty-two high school students from Dunbar follow in his footsteps, making a trip first to Martinez, and then on to Yosemite and San Francisco. Martinez volunteers host one or two students in their homes for four nights. As a group, we go to Muir Woods and the John Muir House on Friday, and then the weekend is free fo

r fun trips. Sunday evening is a farewell barbecue, and on Monday morning they leave us. PLEASE MESSAGE ME THROUGH THIS FACEBOOK PAGE AND I WILL CONTACT YOU.

I love bagpipes!

Even the heat couldn't stop the fun, with bagpipes, dancing, swimming, and lots of good food.

I'm learning that some people don't know who administers this page. I am Sue Hayes Hammond, the American organizer for the Martinez part of Dunbar Grammar School's trip to California.
The weather forecast is holding pretty steady, with temperatures ranging between 88º and 90º F. (31º- 32º C.) while you are in Martinez.
See you at the airport--and get plenty of sleep before you get here. Have a safe trip!
