RAVE!

The Martinez Sea Scouts have a new pleasure craft! This weekend the Sea Scouts got a new ski vessel and tested her out on the waters. This vessel is going to be a great training tool for the Sea Scout program to teach them about small boat handling.

Alongside this new ski boat, the Albatross Sea Scouts also have a 40ft. vessel that they regularly cruise, a 26 ft. motor whaleboat, and a fleet of sailboats, dinghys, canoes, and kayaks that they use.

If you know a kid that loves boating, consider brining them down for a visit to check us out!

A boat a day keeps the doctor away. Having fun on the water with the Albatross Sea Scouts located down in Martinez, California. We meet every Saturday from 9 am to 3 pm. Walk ins are welcome!!!!

The Martinez Sea Scouts are recruiting!

Young men and women ages 10-18: join us on the water to learn maritime and industrial skills and participate in water based activities! We are also seeking adult volunteers with various skill sets. We meet most most every Saturday from 9 am - 4 pm. Learn more via Facebook messenger or at [email protected].

Our Sea Scouts finished the year strong with a holiday trip to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. We even got to meet our Ships namesake, the Albatross, while there. Looking forward to diving into 2025 with more fun activities, boating, and recruitment!

Today our Albatross Sea Scouts learned more about Navigation and Piloting. It was a very proud moment watching Ethan Burton teach the next generation of our scouts. I loved the part of the class where Ethan asked everyone to point out on a nautical chart where we were. Such a great groups of young adults. Skipper Ken Shupe, he did you proud today!

Safety at Sea 2023 is a wrap! Thank you to all the adult volunteers that make this amazing event possible. The Sea Scouts had such a great time playing with water and fire in a safe environment on the U.S. Coast Guard base on Yerba Buena Island.

Tonight's meeting was a blast! We did knot tying, heaving line, and quiz in preparation for regatta season coming up. We cant wait for the Sea Scout regatta season coming up!
