What have the Skyhawk Aggie students been doing this summer? Roman Rushing (Wildlife Science) has been a intern for the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency at the Wolf River Wildlife Management Area.

Congratulations to Meteorology student, Christian Bryson, who received a Collegiate Excellence in Broadcasting Award from the Tennessee Association of Broadcasters for his radio coverage of a severe weather event, including an EF-3 tornado, which occurred in April 2025.

What have the Skyhawk Aggie students been doing this summer? Christian Rhodes (Park Administration) has been a seasonal non-commissioned law enforcement park ranger for Wyoming State Parks at Boysen State Park.

Applications for the 2027 Tennessee Legislative Internship Program are now available! UTM students can request an application packet from Dr. Chris Baxter at [email protected]. Administrators from the program will be on the UTM campus TUESDAY, AUG. 25 from 11:00-3:00 in UC 111 to answer questions.

What have the Skyhawk Aggie students been doing this summer? Wildlife science student, Brayden Simons, is an undergraduate researcher for a National Wild Turkey Federation grant led by Dr. Eric Pelren. He has been monitoring Wild Turkey Roost sites for 5 Wild Turkey Hens with satellite transmitters. He analyses GPS data and goes into the field and locates roosting and nesting sites.

Some of Brayden’s living expenses during this experience was also supported by a USDA NextGEN grant with Tennessee State University.
